Secret Desires by J. L. Regen
Nothing in Margo Simmons’s life comes easy. She can’t claim the inheritance on a condo apartment her uncle has left to her until she is gainfully employed in a job for a year. She meets the man of her dreams but anguishes over having a loving relationship because he is still emotionally tied to his deceased wife. With great difficulty, she becomes the guardian to a recently orphaned child she had been tutoring. Margo evolves from an insecure, newbie elementary teacher into a woman determined to fulfill the secret desires locked in her heart. My story speaks to anyone who has suffered a loss and had to start over.

Author Interview:
Why did I write this book? To give hope to women who’ve never married, are widowed, or separated, that there IS hope for you.I had a similar situation to Margo, though my happily ever after took much longer to arrive.I also want to encourage women, of any age, to go after your professional and personal dreams first so that once you find that special someone you come into the relationship without feeling you’ve sacrificed anything.
I have several releases in the future: Books One and Two of my Historical Suspense Trilogy, which involves a Parisian shop owner who saves the lives of her Jewish factory workers, falls in love with an Austrian soldier, and is sent to Auschwitz.I also have a historical family saga about a medic in WWII who must extricate himself from his older brother’s mob connections to find happiness with the girl he was forced to leave behind at war’s end.
I have been reading the classics since I’m nine. Right now, I’m enthralled by WWII stories of heroism and survival, particularly of Holocaust survivors.
My ambitions as an author are to publish as many novels as humanly possible, perhaps see one or two made into movies, and give author talks on my historicals.
To all those aspiring authors out there: NEVER GIVE UP. Just refuel, breathe, and keep on going. You only fail if you stop so don’t.
